Facilities Planning

The Facilities Planning Department under the direction of the university architect is responsible for all architectural and planning functions of the university, including master planning, design and construction services.

In fulfilling its responsibilities, the Facilities Planning:

  1. Oversees the campus master plan.
  2. Oversees designs and supervises construction of small renovations.
  3. Assists in the selection of consultants for large projects.
  4. Represents Georgia College in coordinating new buildings and major renovations with the Board of Regents; Construction Division, Georgia State Finance and Investment Commission; architects; engineers; and contractors.
  5. Maintains a file of plans and specifications of campus buildings, utility systems, and ground areas.
  6. Provides architectural and consultation as needed.
  7. Coordinates the resolution of issues with newly completed buildings and other facilities during the warranty period in collaboration with Facilities Operations.
