Prerequisites: ELEM 5101, ELEM 5102, and EDRD 5200. ELEM 5001 Field Placement 1 and Seminar provides teacher candidates opportunities to
demonstrate their abilities to draw on deep content knowledge in order to plan, implement and evaluate curriculum; to foster and to assess student learning; to identify and plan for the needs, talents, and interests of diverse learners; and to contribute to the educational life of the school and community. A primary focus for field placement experiences and seminar will be on the teaching of science and social studies.

Prerequisite: Admission to the M.A.T. Elementary Education program. A systematic study, analysis, and application of child development and learning theory in culturally diverse elementary classrooms.

Prerequisite: Admission to the M.A.T. Elementary Education program. An exploration of strategies for developing awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity to support the development of inclusive, respectful learning environments.

Prerequisites: ELEM 5101, ELEM 5102, EDRD 5200, and an approved course in instructional technology (EDIT). Understanding creative and artistic development; methods and strategies for integrating the arts across the elementary curriculum.

Prerequisites: ELEM 5001, ELEM 5201, and EDRD 5215. Overview of strategies and techniques for planning and implementing integrated elementary curriculum.

Prerequisites: ELEM 5201, ELEM 5001, and EDRD 5215 with a grade of C or better. The development of classroom assessment strategies and the interpretation of standardized test results as a means to meet children's developmental needs.

Prerequisites: ELEM 5002, ELEM 5301, and ELEM 5302. Proactive strategies to manage behavior, time, and resources that support successful
learning in the elementary classroom.

Prerequisites: ELEM 5401, EDRD 5511, EDEX 6111, and MAED 6010. Focuses on the development of professional dispositions including but not limited to the understanding of teaching as a profession; the importance of reflection, collaboration, and advocacy; and the Georgia Code of Ethics for Educators.

Prerequisites: ELEM 5401, EDRD 5511, EDEX 6111, and MAED 6010. An individually designed and planned learning experience involving field experience. Must be approved by Mentor Leader. Performance assessments will be used by the Mentor Leader in collaboration with
the Field Supervisor and Partner Teacher in order to evaluate students.
