GRMN - German

Prerequisite: Cannot be taken for credit by students who had two years or more of German in high school. An introduction to the language and culture of German-speaking countries. Beginning of a survey of basic German grammar and the development of the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing German. Some aspects of everyday life in German-speaking countries will also be introduced. One hour of language laboratory per week is required. Prerequisite: GRMN 1001, or equivalent. The second part of an introduction to the language and culture of German-speaking countries. Completion of the survey of basic German grammar and further development of the language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing German. Prerequisite: GRMN 2001 or equivalent. Students continue to increase linguistic and cultural proficiency through the use of a variety of materials and activities. This course is non-repeatable for credit. Additional special course fee required; see semester course schedule for amount.

Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. Consideration of topics in which courses are not otherwise offered, but for which there is a current need at the freshman/sophomore level. This course is repeatable for credit.
