ECON 4201 Financial Mgmt & Programming

Prerequisite: FINC 3131 with a C or above. The course applies a programming to solve financial problems such as corporate finance and investment. The course covers number of concepts, including: financial modeling, risk management, and capital budgeting.

ECON 4320 Introductory Math Economics

Prerequisites: ECON 3600 and MATH 1261 ,or equivalent. Mathematical formulations of economic theories and the application of mathematical techniques to economic analysis.

ECON 4330 Applied Forecasting Bus & Econ

Prerequisite: MATH 1401. Reliable forecasting is essential for any government, firm, and individual to make successful decisions. This course studies techniques of forecasting that is aligned with real-world applications such as weather forecasts, forecast of demand of good and services, elections, stocks, and others. Cross-listed with FINC 4330.

ECON 4340 Introductory Econometrics

Prerequisites: ECON 2105, ECON 3600 and MATH 2600. Statistical inference applied to economic theory. Estimation of single and multiple equation models. Topics include: Regression analysis, ordinary least squares (OLS) and other estimation methods, hypothesis testing, specification, multicollinearity, serial correlation, heteroskedasticity, and simultaneous equation models.

This course meets special needs of the students and/or the community. Approval of the department chairperson is required prior to registration.

ECON 4990 Senior Seminar in Economics

Prerequisites: ECON 3600, 3800, and 4340. Individual directed reading and research in a selected topic area of economics. Research product required. Designated as research course for majors in Economics.
