Degree Requirements
Core Areas A-E
Satisfactorily complete core Areas A-E, as listed in the Core Curriculum section of this catalog.
MATH 1113 Pre-calculus or a higher level MATH course is required in Area A for physics majors.
Core Area F
Satisfactorily complete 18 hours from the following courses. Some of these courses may be taken as part of Area A Math or Area D. If any of these courses are not taken as part of Areas A, D, or F, they must be taken as electives. Any transfer student who has not completed these courses or their equivalents must take these courses at GC.

Satisfactorily complete each of the following courses:
Foreign Language Requirement
Students must demonstrate competence in a foreign language at the level of the second university course (1002).
For students who must take the 1001 and/or 1002 foreign language courses, these courses will be applied to electives and will reduce the total number of elective credits available.
Electives
Capstone Experience
PHYS 4999 is required of all students. Courses that fulfill the capstone requirement are indicated in the Physics catalog course descriptions. Other disciplinary courses may be considered with department approval.
Additional Degree Requirements
Satisfactorily complete all graduation requirements listed in the academic policies section of this catalog.
Maintain an average of C or better in the courses used to fulfill Area F and major requirements.
Successful completion of senior exit interview.
